Following a Coup D'Etat during the 'Cakeless Revolution of 2006', the Cherek is represented by The People's Republic of Cherek FC for Summer 2006...all international caps and appearances are still valid as of FIFA recent decree.
So far this season, the Cherek has lit up the Conference with a brand of football demonstrating a watertight defence, hard working midfield and attacking play that is rapidly improving.
After ten games, the PR Cherek have a healthy record of seven wins, two defeats and a draw to show for an early season that shows the promise that we all saw back at the end of 2005. Although this season may be too early to think of in terms of Championship titles, it has shown that the whole team has taken big strides in moving towards fulfilling their potential, which is all any footballer can try to do.
As of 16th Sept, we are second in the League and top of our Cup Group, which i think is both a good platform to build on as well as a marker for the rest of the year.
We have 14 players in the squad now - everyone's going to want a game. With 10 the maximum allowed, we aren't all going to get one. Starting Vs Outer Limits this week, which is a must-win, given our aspirations of the League, we must look to support the boys that are playing and put our energies into preparing for the following week when we will get our chance again.
Until 8.30 pm KO next week then... Tree
